My Christmas Wish List

greensaki incited me to participate in the Livejournal Christmas Wishlist Project.

My Wishlist

1. Old acquaintances of mine (who I haven't seen in a long time) used to have a big poster in their kitchen. It showed two men with bare upper bodies. One is cradling a baby while the other embraces him. It was beautiful; I really liked that poster. I'd be really happy if someone found a picture like that and sent me a high resolution file of it.

2. If you know any great quotes or poetry, whether you think they are hilarious or moving or romantic or wise - please share them with me. I love quotes and have been collecting snippets from stories and poems for years. I don't care if it's from fanfiction or classical literature or whatever, as long as it evokes emotion or agreement.

3. I adore Terry Prone . Sadly, most of her books aren't available in Germany, and I don't have credit card. So if you have some means of helping me obtain 1. Mirror Mirror, 2. The Best Advice I Ever Got or 3. What Every Working Woman Should Know (Or Do!), I'd be very grateful indeed. (Mind, I'm not asking for getting the books for free.)

4. I have a sponsorship for a fourteen year old girl living in the SOS Children's Village in Chittagong, Bangladesh. I used to send her postcards on a regular basis, but have been neglecting her shamefully for the last year or so. I'd like to make up for this a little. So I'm asking you to, if you like, send her a postcard of your own. I think it would be nice for her to get more mail :-)

Hmmm, I'm afraid I underestimated how time-consuming criminal law. It takes longer than you intended to view the Joecks. Annoying. Well, I 'll see what I create and schedule must be flat next year more time.

The AG-Stizung yesterday quite gone well. We had all felt very well prepared for some reasons we focused on the legal challenge, whereas the focus of the case rather then the temporary injunction was. Yesterday I had my technique to go from general to specific, nor driven a little further. They noted that § § 32-35 of the Criminal Code. I have read only any general comments on the § § in Joecks. Then I read the printed there flowcharts and from a unified scheme (With small deviations for individual § §) tinkered. Against which I then read the rest - all at the first position, then all to action, then all the subjective element, and finally, the respective special issues. To memorize this is because of the risk of a similar inhibition rather poor, but to get an overview of the topic, I found it very useful.

The book by ter Haar / Lutz / Wiedenfels ("honors") contains, among other things, an AG plan. This is only for the preparation of a public company. It provides all the material applied in 112 sessions. I'm just me thinking that I will use it for my review. I'm still as accurate - if I search out the topic on an exam and write a solution, or if I take half a day each to repeat the issues again ... I tend to take the former. If I make every week three or four of the units, I still have enough time for the course and exam AG. The only question is whether the time is still sufficient for the books to read that I would like to work through yet, mainly Medicus and Roxin.

Hakenberg, "European Law", 4th Edition 2007
and
Volker Epping / Sebastian Lenz, "Fallrepetitorium European Law", 1 Edition 2005

Hakenberg writes MMN bad German, the book can be read relatively quickly but still - and it has only about 200 pages. I like the content that a focus on the policies of the EC.

Here again a small sign of life.

There is finally something to report.

I'm the West Coast Trail walked and I survived. It really was a CHALLENGE!

We have made it in 5 ½ days and were faster than most. However exhausted genuine. The trip was nice rainy, muddy, slippery and unbelievable. We slept on the beach and breathe the whales heard. epfehlenswert real. Who times visited Canada and migrate like: does the West Coast Trail. climb ladders, cable car ride, balance Schlamloecher to eat crab from the ocean, have to go over Baumbruecken and die a thousand deaths. Was great and would make them again. With more food, however.

Back in Banff, I've finally decided to terminate my two jobs and on Aug 23 to go towards Kelowna. Will go with a friend who also wants to Kelowna, but then move on alone. I have no plans and I will just look where it leads me.

Banff the last few days I wanted to once again enjoy the right and went far away, played pool and spend the night on sofas to my possible anywhere in the world expanded. Had therefore only a walk over Cory made the pass (1000m steep uphill)

Hi, I am unfortunately

last week not had an entry to write.

Daily life here has not changed and I'll have some pictures made of it.

The work bored me in the supermarket actually growing. If it has on it once it's really not very demanding. For that are work colleagues funny and we always have really fun together.
The hostel is very quiet but really stressful nights. I just a really stressful layer behind me where I had to throw a couple from the hostel. They were drunk and made a lot of great noise. But that holds at least one awake.
is funny when you have two jobs, one is an 8-hour day before the real short and pleasant.

Ok, now to the things I have made if I had not even working on.

two day camping hiking trip at the Johnson Canyon and beyond:
We, that was Takashi (housekeeping manager at the hostel), Kan (Known by Takashi) and I have risen along with heavy luggage, the Johnson Canyon and then about another 10 km further to a camping ground moved at a lake. The track was incredibly beautiful as totally lonely. We are closed on the two days met exactly two people on the road to the Johnson Canyon.
Actually, we were prepared well enough on this hiking trip, but I did not expect to build up that is missing in my newly acquired marquee in the linkage to . I had not checked and thus we stood there without. In the midst of the wilderness, a day's march away from civilization. Because we had to sleep in the tent, we made a young fir (sorry fir) and it is packed in the middle. Was not as cozy little place, but it was enough for the ever-present mosquitoes to keep away. Then I
in the morning when I went to the river but a totally fresh fish found decapitated. The bear must be piled in front of me. We then had a bit scared.
On the way back we will still scared a bear out of the nap, which is fortunately escaped through the forest.

trip to Jasper:
Last Monday, I am then broken up with Vanessa and Takashi turn on a small road trip towards Jasper. The route is described as one of the most beautiful in the world, and it was really great. The way out, we have made in nearly one piece, and then spent the night on a camping ground. Man has free firewood, fresh water and a place to camp. Therefore you have to pay 15 dollars, but no one checked. All voluntary. Then we have

Athabasca Falls impressive, but to many Chinese tourists and real ugly concrete bridges
kites Lake: beautiful, are swimming in it, or rather dunked. Cold!
Mistaya Canyon: beautiful deep and true, no one there except us
Columbia Icefield: imposing, as the locals got a free ride from Banff to the Icemobil. Have walked on the glacier and glaciers have been drinking water!

Johnson Lake:
only a short trip with Carly (front desk staff) to a small lake nearby. Was totally relaxing. Have a few hours in the sun Hostel located and exchanged gossip.

Cascade Mountain:
belongings alone climbed half the Cascade Mountain. For the 4 km route steep uphill I'm only 2 hours use. The best drive is going to quickly mosquitoes everywhere! Had forgotten my spray and my legs are now totally slashed!

first again back to Banff and come to work for 2 weeks. Then I'm taking back free for a week and do a 4 day trip here through the Rockies.
early September, then I break with Melissa at the direction of Quebec. Then have six weeks to cross time the country completely. Target is the home of a friend.

Hi,

Phew, have just noticed that my last entry here already an eternity is back.
is the turn for the most part, that here something has gone to such everyday. If one can call in a hostel of everyday life.
There is always something going on and there is always someone to chat. Straight while he stays I am writing this is a guy with a rap Bibermuetze on the morning in the middle of the lobby at 2 clock.
So it's usually really funny, but it can also be exhausting.
So, my week here now looks like this:
Monday I work 8-4 in the supermarket as a cashier. The work is easy and often really boring. You stand around for hours only and is hardly a customer. Then again, for 2 hours for a second between the customer and collected as an assembly line. The typical supermarket phenomenon. But with the job I'm learning more English, at least the common vegetables and fruits. Here, as in the German supermarket weighed at the checkout and you have to type in a code. I once counted and came to 20 codes which I already in my head. Really waste of Erinnerungsvermoegen, but it is at least well paid.
Monday is actually my Friday because I will have two whole days completely free. I try to use this course to see more of the area. Unfortunately the last days not worked properly. With a few friends wanted to go to a Cani, but the driver jumped off. The next day we wanted to climb a mountain here, but then are but landed in a field half way and have been dozing in the sun. A girl by the it had exaggerated the day before in the gym.
War but still beautiful, though nothing special. But I was today, Thursday canoe ride with Jacob.
Ok, so after 2 days of free time then comes the Thursday I'm working again first morning to afternoon at the supermarket. At 11 at night I go then my night shift at the hostel, which goes to 7 in the morning. Is actually really easy work, most of the time I sit around and look away or chatting on the computer. So if anyone likes to chat with me or skype: I am every Friday and Saturday mornings of your time online!
Mostly the nights quiet, only sometimes do the drunk people just do not be quiet and you must sometimes throw someone out of the hostel. I do not happen only once.
Fridays I can sleep up to 2 and then again by 3 must be in the supermarket, I work until 9:30 and then again as in the hostel by 11.
start again Saturday at 3 in the supermarket and at 9:30 I'll be ready and have fortunately not work again in the hostel. I work on Sundays then 2:00 to 10:30 at the supermarket.
Overall, the then 53 hours of work in the week. Start to feel as a workaholic!
But for me I will probably soon make a car! Have a prospect and will travel to Calgary on Sunday and look at it. Maybe I'm happier then already Sunday car owner. Then there are even more enviable photos of great scenery!

Ok, I will give you an impression of the people who are here have become my friends. First there is
Melissa that I've mentioned already several times. It is just great, funny, and I can chat with her about everything. She is from Ontario, near Toronto, a real Canadian girl. Then there are
come Joane and Vanessa are both from Quebec. I always learn a little French from them, but forget most again. They are completely active and the best hiking partner!
Jacob is mostly hiking with it. A really crazy guy who always climbs trees. With him and Melissa, I have the most fun and we are almost always together.

Illustrated right now I'm a little lazy. Will try to post some pictures of my "normal" life to do here.
today there are only pictures of 2 Trip to Lake Louise last week Wednesday. actually the first real hiking trip was that I have made here. We hiked almost 8 hours and have made a few meters height. The sore muscles the next day was not without real!

Hi,

Time goes by so fast here that I have not noticed that my last entry is already a week back. So I'm
still finds here in Banff and still great. We had some great weather day right and I got my cashier job in a few films I've been a lot outside.

Last week Tuesday I was shopping with Melissa in Calgary. We, therefore, I rather because I'm the only one who is old enough, had for renting a car. We had planned to take yet another girlfriend, but had a hangover and did not want to. That's why I'm just in the kitchen and I cried: We go now to Calgary, if you like to?
It has actually reported a guy and we are going on. Calgary is the next largest city here, but not really worth seeing. Melissa and I are shopping and then made Guillian sightseeing. Rich And Skinny Jeans

Out of the city, into the wilderness

Ok, now I am no longer in Vancouver.
After 7 days of city life had just enough of that and I wanted to get out in the wilderness. Then have all the partners of the written hostels in Vancouver if I do not anyone can work for my rent, but actually get a job in Banff.
On Thursday I will start at 6:30 (!!!) with the bus to Rocky's.
The bus trip took 13.5 hours with all the breaks are not counted.

We also once a 2.5 hours through the wilderness without coming down to even a gas station, or any other sign of human life over.

Today (Friday) was then directly to my first working day in the hostel. Housekeeping. Not to clean the toilets, the most beautiful work of other people and some are real pigs, but at least I'm now spending more for the first no rent.

Sorry I can as long hear anything from me. Unfortunately, I have directly received in the first days of a nasty Blaseninzuendung and could not do something because possessions can directly make my first experience with the Canadian health system. Yesterday, on May 7, 2008, it was finally come: I started my work and travel year in Canada.
It started first with the bye, and then to a still very long 10 hour flight from Frankfurt Vancouver. Luckily, with a real nice person sitting next to the well for work and travel has come here. I've Arrived

course, thrifty as I am, the public transport put to my hostel in downtown Vancouver. I had to be presented in this set that my backpack is pretty damn heavy and bulky and therefore bus ride but no real fun ....

My hostel is really nice, but yesterday I was blown away by the Jetlegs directly and I have only slept.

Today, on my first day, have I first made all the errands you have to do this:
bank account, social security number, mail and telephone. Real hard.
am therefore not so much been around, but so far I like Vancouver very well. There are some cool alternative shops.
